Sponsorships
Please reach out to people and companies you know and ask to sponsor the HGES PTO. Sponsorships include a banner on the front fence. They will be bigger in size this year.
Fund Raisers
Ideas for this year include : Tattoo a Teacher, Tape a Teacher (Christmas Themed), Name a hallway silent auction, Grandparents day “tip” jar, Pj/Hat days and Culvers/Zaxbys Nights.
First Culvers Night is Sept 30th.
First PJ day is August 28th. Money going straight to improve the playground. The end goal is to buy basketball hoops and soccer goals.
Ideas given by parents at the meeting were skip Car Rider line and Alabama vs Auburn Dollar War.
Trail of Treats
Trail of Treats will not happen this year instead we are going to help support the PE department with Color Run. Open for suggestions on how to do that. One idea is carnival games as a station at Color Run.
Veterans Breakfast
Looking for PTO/Parent support to help with set up, clean up and donations.
Trojan Trolley
The first Trojan Trolley is August 28th. Ice Cream Floats. Ice Cream is being donated by Culvers.

Grandparents Day
Grandparents day will now be celebrated at night with a Bingo and Ice Cream. This is scheduled for September 10th from 5:30-7pm. We plan to have “tip jars” with a vision board of the playground. Again all money from tip jars will go towards the renovation of the play ground. We are still discussing if we will have the silent auction to name hallways that same night. A Signup Genius will be sent out soon for volunteers. Culvers is again donating the ice cream.
Dances
A christmas dance will be held December 11th from 5:30 - 7pm. This will be for grades Pre-K through 2nd grade.
A valentines dance will be held February 11th for grades 3rd -5th.
Christmas Lunch
As of right now Wing Stand will be providing lunch for the teachers. We are still looking for donations for gift baskets for teachers to win at the lunch. We will also need help setting up and taking down.
Remarks from Mrs. Collier
We have 50-60 more cars in the car rider line this year. We are averaging 20 cars a minute. We are doing the best we can.
We have secured a DJ and photo opps for Christmas Dance.
Kona Ice will be happening monthly. We receive 25% back from Kona Ice. That money will help cover lunch balances at the end of the year.
Reading Night is August 29th. It will again line up with the bookfair. We will need help making popcorn from 5:00-6:45, maybe in 30 minute shifts.
Chronic absenteeism went from 18% in 2024/2025 to 14% in 2025/2026 school year. This is a great improvement.
Still waiting on the state report card, it comes out in October.
